A small company working on one narrow problem: making AI a faster way to sound like yourself, rather than a faster way to sound like everybody else.
Our story
It started as a complaint
Writibot began in 2021, in the gap between two frustrations. Between us we had spent years writing for other people, and the AI tools arriving that year were genuinely, undeniably fast. They were also close to useless for the work we actually had in front of us. Every draft came back in the same flat, agreeable, mid-Atlantic register, and correcting that took longer than writing the thing from scratch.
So the first thing we built was not a generator. It was a voice profile: a way of reading five things somebody had already written and describing, precisely enough for a model to act on, how that person puts a sentence together. Sentence length. Vocabulary. Whether they use contractions. How they open, and how they land an ending.
The generator came second, deliberately. By then it had something to be faithful to, which is why Writibot drafts read like a specific person rather than a committee. Everything since has been built in that order: work out what the writer is trying to preserve, then make the machine respect it.
Today we are a small, deliberately unglamorous company. Still remote, still working on the editor rather than a suite of things next to it, and still measuring ourselves by whether somebody would recognise their own writing coming back out.

The internet does not need more competent, weightless text. It needs the people who have something specific to say to be able to say it more often, without the week it currently costs them.

These are the arguments we have already had internally, written down so we do not have to keep having them.

Your voice is the product
Speed was solved by everybody at once. Sounding like yourself was not. Every feature we add has to survive one question first: does this help somebody write more like themselves, or just faster in general? If it is only the second one, it does not ship.

We do not make claims we cannot back
Our checks flag phrasing that looks unoriginal, overstated or unsupported. They do not certify anything, and we describe them as built-in checks rather than a guarantee, because that is what they are. Anyone selling you certainty about AI output is selling you the wrong thing.

The draft is a starting point, never an authority
A model can be confidently wrong in flawless prose, which is the most dangerous combination there is. Writibot is built to be reviewed. We show reading level, flag weak claims and keep the version history visible precisely so the last decision stays with a person.

Your writing is not our training data
What you write in Writibot is used to give you the thing you asked for and nothing else. We do not train models on customer content, and if that ever changed it would be a clearly labelled opt-in that starts switched off, not a line added quietly to a policy.

No hostage-taking
Export everything in a format other tools can read, cancel from your own settings in two clicks, and delete your account without writing to anybody. A product should keep customers because leaving would be a loss, not because leaving is difficult.

Fewer things, finished properly
We have turned down more feature requests than we have accepted. One editor that takes a piece from brief to published beats a suite of half-built adjacent products, and it is the only way a small team ships something that holds together.
Plain speaking
What Writibot is not
Knowing where a tool stops is more useful than another paragraph about where it starts.
- A guarantee of originality. The checks help you look, they do not certify.
- An SEO scoring tool. We write the words, your ranking tool can score them.
- A place where your drafts quietly become somebody else's training data.
- An attempt to take you out of the loop. Review is the point, not the friction.
